Wednesday, September 10th at about 1 am I awoke with contractions that made it hard to sleep. By 1:30 am I needed to be out of bed. I wandered around, tried to work on a simple writing project, thought about making a snack, took a shower, tried every conceivable chair, couch, bed, bathroom position. By 5:50 am I was losing my ability to cope by myself and awoke my husband. I had him gather all of the things I thought I would be able to do in labor.
