Hospital

Our daughter Isabela was born September 14, 2004. Isabela was born in the hospital. We had the best hospital birth experience one could pray to have and we will never do it again God willing! I like to say that we really just paid to rent the room at the hospital, they left us alone for the most part which is exactly what we wanted. For that money we could have had her at the Four Seasons!

Today is the 12th birthday of my first baby. My husband, Frank and I were 20 years old when she was born. He was in the Air Force and we lived at Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas. All of our family was back home in San Diego, Ca. So, we were on our own to experience this new adventure of becoming parents.

Callie's Birth

I was 17 years old when I had my first baby.

Pregnancy, birth, and babies had always been an interest of mine, for some reason. Fortunately, this led me to devour dozens of books, and I discovered the concept of midwives.

I chose the busiest Nurse-Midwife in town, Janet, and planned to deliver at the hospital. I enjoyed my prenatal visits very much. Janet treated me with all the respect any adult could have expected, and displayed nothing but confidence in my abilities to birth and care for a baby.
