Vaccine awareness is on the upswing.  Everybody wants to know- are they safe?  effective?  useful?  I have decided to start us off with a basic article dispelling 10 common myths and countering them with truth.  If you aren't open to changing your mind, read no further.  The website I took this from is one of my faves.  Expect lots from here in the future.

Help! How Do I Fit Another Car Seat in My Car?

Here's the discussion going on at Pinkpeas right now. Car seats are fun, right? Not really. Necessary, but such a pain to find the right one and install it properly in your car. Just when you've got one down, along comes another baby and now you're fitting two in a car. Then, you're pregnant with baby #3. Wait - how do I fit three car seats in my little car?!? We have two pregnant mamas here in this exact situation. Buying a bigger car isn't really an affordable option. Here's a site that might help.

Mom of six Tammy plans to blog the pregnancy and birth of her new little one expected in December. She and her husband are planning a home waterbirth in Guatemala.

Thank God for my Man!!!

My husband got home from his first graveyard shift a couple of hours ago.  He worked from 2:30 yesterday afternoon until 6:30 this morning.  I am so thankful to be married to this man!  As some of you may know my part time job with WIC was cut last week, I was immediately concerned about what we would do to make up this income.  Though small, my income was needed for our family.  I went to craigslist to start looking for something I could do and still be with my children.  I was informed of the cut Monday.  On Tuesday my husband told me "you don't nee

Dolly's Birth

Wednesday, September 10th at about 1 am I awoke with contractions that made it hard to sleep.  By 1:30 am I needed to be out of bed.  I wandered around, tried to work on a simple writing project, thought about making a snack, took a shower, tried every conceivable chair, couch, bed, bathroom position.  By 5:50 am I was losing my ability to cope by myself and awoke my husband.  I had him gather all of the things I thought I would be able to do in labor.  When all of my list of things were gathered, we were about to check to see if it was time to call the ladies who w

Isabela's Birth

Our daughter Isabela was born September 14, 2004. Isabela was born in the hospital. We had the best hospital birth experience one could pray to have and we will never do it again God willing! I like to say that we really just paid to rent the room at the hospital, they left us alone for the most part which is exactly what we wanted. For that money we could have had her at the Four Seasons!

Liliana's Birth

So, here is Liliana's birth story as written by my amazing wonderful midwife Corrine, I love hearing it from your perspective! I will preface it by saying this was our first homebirth, our amazing daughter Isabela was born naturally in the hospital. My husband will say that the most powerful aspect of our homebirth as compared with our hospital birth was how empowered we were as parents.
