Centering Parenting – Healthy Baby, Healthy Mother, Healthy Family

Centering Parenting Sessions are a continuation of the information and support you received during your pregnancy. We use the materials provided by Centering Healthcare Institute , and schedule sessions usually twice per month. The schedule for Centering Parenting Sessions varies from morning to early afternoon and late afternoon, so as to be equally inconvenient to everyone’s nap and work schedules. Centering Parenting Sessions are posted on our events calendar.

Healthy Baby – There is a lot to learn in caring for a new baby, and baby’s needs are ever changing as baby grows. Centering Parenting Groups provide a forum for learning what you need to know, keeping track as baby grows, and sharing the ups and downs of life with baby. Centering Parenting Groups provide practical consumer information to help you in all of your parenting choices from feeding, bathing and diapering, healthcare choices, and the transition to being a stay-at-home mom, or returning to work.

Healthy Mother – With so much of your energy devoted to baby, it is easy to overlook the big changes that are happening to Mom, physically, mentally and emotionally. Centering Parenting Groups provide just the right amount of care for Mom, and a safe place to truly be who you are and explore the perfectly normal range from exhaustion to exhilaration, from confusion to confidence, and from utter despair to unbelievable joy.

Healthy Family – “One child takes all of your time, two children take all of your time, ten children take all of your time, what difference does it make?” Every child born creates a new family, whether it is the first, second or tenth child in the family. Centering Parenting Groups are facilitated by women who understand the joys and challenges of having a first baby or adding a baby to a growing family.

A few notes about children: You are welcome to bring your children, but you should bring quiet activities and non-messy snacks so that you can keep your children near you, quiet and happy, while you attend your group. If your children would be happier in another environment, we expect you to make other arrangements for them.

Please bring only water to drink for yourself and your children.
