Dolly's Birth

Wednesday, September 10th at about 1 am I awoke with contractions that made it hard to sleep.  By 1:30 am I needed to be out of bed.  I wandered around, tried to work on a simple writing project, thought about making a snack, took a shower, tried every conceivable chair, couch, bed, bathroom position.  By 5:50 am I was losing my ability to cope by myself and awoke my husband.  I had him gather all of the things I thought I would be able to do in labor.  When all of my list of things were gathered, we were about to check to see if it was time to call the ladies who were to come help me.  As we checked, my water broke and my baby's head appeared a tiny bit.  Two contractions later Dolly Mae was born, at 6:29 am, 8 pounds 4 ounces.  She is our 7th baby.

Jason had to go help his dad move, so after a long nap Dolly and I did our regular errands; by 3pm we were at the grocery store, and then we took her brothers to fight school.  Thursday we went to the grocery store and the post office, and then late in the evening we went to help at the birth of another little girl, born at 2:30 Friday morning.  We got home from that birth at about 6:30 am, and slept awhile before getting up to go do today's afternoon errands.

Hold out hope, my friends!  Having older children in the house makes having newborns so much easier!
